WHAT IS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST?
A:

  • "Physiotherapists manage and prevent many physical problems caused by illness, disease, sport and work related injury, aging, and long periods of inactivity."
  • "Physiotherapists are skilled in the assessment and management of a broad range of conditions that affect the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems."
(Reference: Canadian Physiotherapy Association)

WHAT IS AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST?
A:

  • "Occupational therapy is a health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. Occupation refers to everything that people do during the course of everyday life. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the occupations which give meaning and purpose to their lives. Occupational therapists have a broad education that provides them with the skills and knowledge to work collaboratively with people of all ages and abilities that experience obstacles to participation. These obstacles may result from a change in function (thinking, doing, feeling) because of illness or disability,and/or barriers in the social, institutional or and physical environment."

Q1: WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS?
A1:
  • 8AM - 5PM, Monday through Friday
  • Any request received after 5PM or on weekends will be addressed on the following business day
Q2: WHAT IS THE GEOGRAPHICAL TERRITORY COVERED BY PHYSIOMOBILE?
A2:
  • We provide our services over the Montreal island and surrounding areas
  • We come to you, whether it is at home, at a hospital, in your office, at a hotel, etc.
  • Our rates may vary accordingly depending on the traveling time taken for the dispatched therapist to come to see you
Q3: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I PLACE A REQUEST FOR HOME CARE SERVICES WITH PHYSIOMOBILE?
A3:
  • Same day response from one of the company's associates to find out what your needs are, to answer your questions, to explain the details of the payment of the honorary fees for our services, etc.
  • We then look to find, amongst the professionals of our team, an available therapist best-suited to meet your specific situation and needs; this can usually be achieved within the same day as well but may take up to 24 hours
  • We contact you again to provide you with the name of your therapist
  • Your therapist will then contact you within the next 24 hours to schedule an initial appointment within a week's time thereafter depending on his / her availabilities and yours
  • Worse case scenario, if we cannot find anyone from our team to best meet your needs, we will provide you with other resources to help you with your search
Q4: WHICH THERAPIST WILL COME TO SEE ME?
A4:
  • We do not dispatch our therapists based on geographical area, but rather based on your specific situation, needs, condition, etc.: we send our best-suited therapist to best meet your needs
  • If you have any preferences (e.g. male / female therapist, etc.), we will try to fulfill them as much as we possibly can
Q5: WHEN WILL I BE SEEN: WEEKDAYS? NIGHTS? WEEKENDS?
A5:
  • Ultimately, you will determine and agree with your therapist on a schedule that will be convenient to both parties
  • Some, but not all, of our therapists work on weekends
Q6: HOW OFTEN AND FOR HOW LONG WILL I NEED TO BE SEEN?
A6:
  • We leave ourselves the discretion of the initial evaluation to determine those details with you
  • Your therapist will first assess you, then share with you his / her clinical findings and treatment plan; although recommendations will be made, you will always be part of the decision-making process and ultimately decide what you deem to be best for you
Q7: WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
A7:
  • Our honorary fees vary depending on the types of services needed, the anticipated frequency and duration of treatments, the traveling time involved for the therapist to come and see you, etc.
  • For more information on our rates, please contact us
Q8: HOW CAN I PAY FOR YOUR SERVICES?
A8:
  • After each home care session of services delivered, a receipt is emitted in exchange of payment, which can be used with most insurance companies and / or for your income taxes as medical / rehabilitative expenses
  • Payments can be made either by cash or cheque made to the order of PhysioMobile
Q9: ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY MEDICARE? BY MY INSURANCE? OTHERS?
A9:
  • Our home care services are private and therefore not covered by Medicare
  • They are however covered, either partially or entirely, by most insurance companies: the extent of the coverage is dependent on your policy's premium, and it is up to you to determine those details with your insurance company beforehand
  • PhysioMobile is a recognized provider with the "Société de l'Assurance Automobile du Québec" (SAAQ) and with the "Veterans Affairs Canada" (VAC); so long as you are eligible, you will receive partial compensation from the above-mentioned bodies, and the remaining difference of the honorary fees will be charged to you, which you can then claim to your insurance company and / or as medical / rehabilitative expenses for your income taxes as described above in "How can I pay for your services?"
Q10: DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN'S REFERRAL TO HIRE YOUR SERVICES?
A10:
  • No, you can have direct access to our private home care services, and therefore no physician referral is needed
  • If, however, you are admitted to a public health care setting (e.g. acute care hospital, rehab center, long-term care center, etc.), it is possible that your attending physician may need to sign a prescription to give you the authorization to hire private services while still under the public sector's jurisdiction
